Editing your hosts file often? This may help:

Unfortunately my internal DNS server has packed up and I haven't got around to reconfiguring it, which has meant that I am now using the Windows HOSTS file more than I would like. Never mind.

Anyway, to save fiddling around with opening Notepad as administrator and then navigating to the file, How To Geek has got a very handy tutorial on how to setup a shortcut to take you straight there.

Can't believe I didn't think of that earlier. Oh, and it works in Windows 10 just as you'd expect.

Easy super-slick animations for web UI elements

I found jQuery 'easing' animations as part of a HTML template I was working on. After a bit of research they are actually rather widespread and are used as a way to change the rate of fading or sliding animations on websites.

Anyways, this site is definitely one I shall be bookmarking - the animations are sooo smooth.

The Noun Project

I was looking for a couple of icons to use on a web design and inadvertently came across this site, The Noun Project.

It hosts thousands of icons for download as .PNG or .SVG and as long as you attribute the author, they are free to use, many are Creative Commons.

After only really using FontAwesome, this is certainly a handy site to know about.

New domain, new blog

As part of a more widespread rebranding of my online presence, I thought I'd get myself an extra domain to use for my new blog. (what? .coms are just so cheap)

Haven't you tried this before?
Well, since you ask, I have tried blogging before, but I am probably going to use this as less of a blog and more of a 'log' for myself of useful resources and services that I might want to use one day, with some actual blog posts mixed in.

Feel free to subscribe or follow my Google+ profile.
